My Vera Bradley Wish List

We all know I have an obsession with Vera Bradley. I've posted a wish list and my collection. But I also have a huge wish list that I keep in a specific order and I love crossing things off when I get them. My wish list was just so big that I divided it up in three categories: Luggage, home, and handbags. I have a problem. When you can divide it into categories, it's no longer in order of how much I want it. So just know that there are some things on my list that I want more than others and by far, the luggage is spread through out the second half. I love the luggage but let's be serious for a second, I do not have a reason for most of the luggage other than it would be fun. So what's at the top of my list? Here's my top 5:

1. Vera in Plum Crazy ($80)
2. 2014 Agenda in Plum Crazy ($25)
3. Market Tote in Plum Crazy ($8)
4. Check Book Cover in Provencal ($20)
5. Small Duffel in Provencal ($69)

As I've said before, the way to my heart is pretty Vera bags. If you want a guarantee of my love, buy me one please.

My Vera Bradley Collection

I am obsessed with Vera Bradley. Can someone explain to me what about it is so addicting? The patterns are beautiful and the colors are always right on trend and I just love all their stuff. I am just obsessed. Jessica asked me to do a post to show my whole collection. I tried to get it all into a picture and then I realized that is a joke. It's too hard and with all the patterns and colors, it was looking crazy. So I made a collage. I have a long wish list and an enabling amazing group of family and friends that know what I love so I'm sure I'll be updating this list soon but still. Luke is even super sweet and supportive. It helps that his sisters and his mom love Vera too. He even took his IPad in and had the girls in the Hallmark store look at my list to pick something. He is pretty cute.

Friday Faves

The first Friday Faves of 2013! Happy New Years!
1. Hot Tubbing
I went hot tubbing with Joe on Thursday. It was so relaxing and it was a great way to spend an hour the week before classes start.

2.  Vera Bradley Turn Lock Wallet
Luke bought me this wallet to match my bag for Christmas and I just love it!

3. Lincoln
Luke and I went to see Lincoln this week and it was amazing! Definitely a must-see!

4. New Year's Eve
Courtney and I had a blast on NYE eating McDonald's and Taco Bell and watching movies. We goofed around and stayed up long enough to see the ball drop and to wish everyone we knew a happy new year and then went to bed. It was pretty great!

5. Friends
It's been deathly cold in my house but I've been cuddled up in my bed watching Friends and I have to say it is definitely my favorite show!

Winter 2012 Vera Bradley Wish List

I have a Vera Bradley obsession. Really more of an addiction. As soon as Vera Bradley released their holiday products, I created a wish list of items separate from my regular wish list. And of course, I then had to find them all, clip them to Polyvore and create a collage. Then, I decided to share it here. Because it's my blog and I do what I want, yo. So anyways, these products will only be in stores and online for the holiday season so my chances of getting all of these gorgeous pieces is slim to none. But a girl can dream.

Friday Faves

It's Friday!!! Not that it means much when you work as much as I do. But anyways.

1. These Battery Operated Candles
I think the entire room cheered when I announced we have 50 battery operated candles for our rituals. The sorority has been desperate to do this for a while but when I originally held the position, I never had the budget to do it and when other's held the position, they were those who believe battery operated candles aren't as nice as real candles. I am actually really excited because it means no burns or accidents anymore. I'll never forget when Ashley fell asleep during a ritual and almost caught her hair on fire.

2. Chili
Remember this yummy chili I made earlier this week? So good! The leftovers are just as good. Maybe a little thick but still really delicious. I love having leftovers.

3. Confessions of a Cookbook Queen
This is the greatest blog on the internets. Kristan is hilarious and I hope I can be as half as cool as she is. When I see something new from her pop up into my feed reader, I cheer a little in my head. She makes yummy food and tells hilarious stories about her life. This week she posted an amazing oreo poke cake that I can't wait to try.

4. Blueberry Bagels from Big Apple Bagels
The boss brought bagels to work yesterday and so far the best part about closing is taking stuff like that home at the end of the night. Free bagels are the best breakfast and the blueberry bagel I had this morning was so good.

5. My New Vera Bradley Loop Key Chain
A little gift to myself for getting a new job and making it through two weeks of class. Plus it was on sale. Sales are always a reason for Vera.

Friday Faves

So here we are again. Sometimes, it's hard to come up with 5 things about your week that are actually positive. Like this week. When I spent a lot of time doing things I'd been dreading to get ready to go back to school. So here is the list... It took a while but it just goes to show you there are 5 good things about every week.

1. Subway
Thanks to Subway, I may actually be a tiny bit less poor soon. I got a call yesterday morning about an interview on Monday morning. So hopefully all goes well and I won't starve to death!

2. Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh-Jennings
Watching two American teams compete for gold and knowing that we would be up on the medal stand twice? Pretty cool. Watching Misty and Kerri's reaction to winning their third gold medal together? Freakin' epic. They are really cool chicks and I can't wait to watch Kerri compete in Rio in 2016. Might be a little hard to see her compete with someone else but for now I'll just remember when Kerri started dancing in the sand.

3. Go On
Some people may be upset that NBC cut their prime time Olympic coverage to show a commercial-free preview of Matthew Perry's new show Go On. I am not one of those people. The show was hilarious! A genius move on NBC's part because I wouldn't have watched it except I was too lazy to find something else and I didn't want to miss any Olympic coverage. Now, I can't wait for this show to come out because it is just so darn funny.

4. Blueberries
Joe and I have gone blueberry picking twice in the last month and this time we made some delicious blueberry crumble. I'll share the recipe later this week. It was so yummy with some vanilla ice cream!

5. My new Vera Bradley Planner
I got my new Vera planner this week and it makes me so excited for the new semester. There is nothing better than a brand new planner waiting for my notes all over it! So excited!

What To Wear.... The Amusement Park

Is there anything better than a day at an amusement park? I don't think so. I've been lucky enough to go to Cedar Point in Ohio twice this summer. The first time I went, the heat index was over 100 degrees. I spent a lot of time strategizing for the second round of coasters. So I've compiled my best tips for how to get the most out of your days at the amusement parks. These tips are to maximize your time on the coasters and not have to worry about what to do with your gear.

First of all, you have to get the attire right. If you don't, you will suffer greatly. I've been to Cedar Point at least once a summer for all of my 21 years and I have mastered the proper outfit. To start off with, you need a great foundation. I didn't put it in my picture and I'm not sure this needs to be said but skip the frilly panties in favor of something cotton. You will thank me later. Go with some cotton socks as well. And the most important part: a sports bra will set you free. I cannot tell you how uncomfortable a regular bra is in 100 degree heat. A sports bra is key. A loose cotton tank top is perfect. Anything ribbed or tight-fitting will get uncomfortable as you sweat. (I made my own tank for our last trip. Tutorial to follow.) Don't go with regular athletic shorts on this one. Old Navy's perfect khaki shorts really are perfect. If you want to go without a purse or backpack, you need the pockets and belt loops. The Vera Bradley ID holder is perfect if you're going without a bag. It has a key ring and holds a couple of cards and bills. It also fits in a pocket. Combine that with a carabineer and you can ride without worrying about  losing your stuff. I also got a Vapur bottle which was a life saver. We filled them up between rides and just clipped them to our belt loops for the rides. I realized afterwards you could get a little sunscreen bottle with a carabineer so you wouldn't ever have to go out to the car if you didn't want to. Lastly, get yourself some decent athletic shoes. Your feet are going to hurt. Flip flops aren't going to help.

If you're going to do an amusement park in this last month of summer, at least do yourself a favor and dress appropriately. Dressing just like this, I think this last trip was my first where I never thought about what I was wearing.
